About the Course:

 

The workshop is designed to enable leaders to solve existing problems in creative ways using the Design Thinking Methodology. Conventional problem-solving tools lead to run-of-the- mill solutions, hence in a fast-changing world, the problem-solving methodology has to be different. Design Thinking, with its exploratory, open-ended approach provides he answer. This workshop will introduce the participants to this approach. An individual has infinite potential to achieve the extraordinary. This potential lies dormant within oneself stifled by the dos & don’ts of society. 

 

Similarly, an organization (a business entity or otherwise) too has a limitless ability to influence society positively and achieve its commercial interests. Every organization has the potential to create breakthroughs. However, this potential is restricted by:-

 

1.     The organization’s mental model about its own business- They define their business from the perspective of; What we can do rather than what our consumer wants us to do.

 

2.     Its inability to visualize the future- They define the future of their business based on what they can capture from the unfolding based on their current abilities rather than re-imagining their organizational abilities to not just tackle, but create the future.

 

3.     Its unwillingness to cannibalize its existing products- Very often organizations hold onto their existing turf for too long despite the winds of change.

 

4.     An organizational culture that does not encourage experimentation among its employees- The spirit of exploration is lost when employees are afraid to try out new stuff

Session 1

 

Duration: 8 hours

 

Module 1- Unlearning & Rewiring the brain for Creativity

  Module 2- Inculcating a Human-centric approach to problem solving

Module 3 - Creative tools for capturing ‘Consumer Insights’

 

·         Live Case studies &  Experience sharing

 

 

 

Assignment – A live challenge to be taken up. The participants will be expected to come

 

back for Session 2 with information about the same as per the format shared.

 

 

 

Intervening period- two weeks

 

Session 2

 

Duration: 6 hours

 

            Module 4- Sense making from the information gathered

 

            Module 5- Applying the Design Process for Solution Generation

 

 

 

Intervening period- two weeks

 

 

 

Session 3

 

Duration: 4 hours

 

            Module 6- Solution Presentation with prototypes

 

            This session will involve feedback to the participants for fine tuning their solutions

 

              Distribution of Certificates to successful participants
